Design Directors are the driving force keeping the creative side of n e t a on the pioneering edge of digital platform design.  They make sure that no talent goes to waste and that the work stays sharp, relevant, and most importantly enduring design in the digital age. Design Directors develop original design concepts, industry-changing marketing campaigns, and compelling B2B/B2C solutions, innovative commerce designs with exposure to sprint-based iterative design process and systems. They have an intuitive feeling for the way an experience should work, and a deep understanding of what users want and need when it comes to interacting with brands and businesses in digital.  The work includes digital strategy and interaction design across any touch point – web, mobile, social, tablet, in-store and emerging platforms. We want a Design Director whose craft is high and likes getting her/his hands dirty when needed: you lead by example and you can show how it’s done. They will oversee a team of 4 to 5 design resources, ranging from Sr. Graphic Designers, Sr. Manager of UX Design, Graphic Designers, Jr. Graphic Designers/Digital Project Coordinators to 3rd Party design resources for overflow.  They will partner with our Dev integration team, our 3rd Party developers and project managers.  We need someone who can be a strategic product owner, a team player and a skilled client partner all rolled into one. You’ll be a thoughtful thinker, collaborative problem solver, and an engaging client and team builder.

MUST HAVE:

  • At least 6 – 10 years’ experience in Design, preferably a range of website, digitally responsive award-winning brand destinations ranging from nimble frameworks to enterprise, with at least 3 years’ experience in a Design leadership
  • Robust background with recognized expertise in one or more of the following: eCommerce design, branding, visual design, advertising digital marketing.
  • Although you don’t need to be an expert in UX you are an expert designing for digital: apps, web apps, e-commerce and digital ads among others.
  • Advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of interactive design, product design, user-centered design, brand development, digital marketing, and the creative process, as well as new platforms and technologies.
  • Leadership over the entire design process and a passion for current design trends coupled with a deep understanding of user experience
  • Ability to provide clear creative direction, as well as, timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes that keep work on budget and schedule.
  • Bold leadership skills are essential for this role. We need someone confident in everything from team building to mentoring, to guiding creative talent.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term needs. Timelines, budgets, and availabilities change, and we need someone who can roll with it.
  • Proven track record to ensure the final visual design is on-brand and delivers on strategic and business goals.
  • Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities for both internal and external clients.
  • A truly impressive background with experience creating interfaces, large-scale websites, and applications.
  • Someone open to feedback who knows how and when to defend design choices.
  • n e t a is highly collaborative – we need someone who will not just listen, but anticipate the needs, concerns, and input from partners and teammates across departments.
