Carlos was responsible for defining the iterations of Inditex’s (the largest vertical fashion retailer in the world, that owns ZARA) foray into the digital world. It was here that he met neta’s founder, Lyde Spann, and together they devised Inditex‘s format-wide and global eCommerce platform for Zara Home that served as the test ground for ZARA, and that would effectively make one of the most successful eCommerce on-ramps to date. Back when there were record stores, (in the ‘90s), Carlos managed three Virgin Megastores (Málaga, Santander and A Coruña), where he learned the dynamics of brick & mortar retail, an influence on the omnichannel strategies and content creation services he delivers in present day.

In his own words…

There is no such thing as a ‘new’ idea. Nick Cave says that “to act on a bad idea is better than to not act at all… because the worth of the idea never becomes apparent until you do it”. I couldn’t agree more.

What I do value in today’s age of instantaneous media & information is the capability to transform ideas into objectives, facts, and results. A team offering this kind of service is a rara avis and after 20 years I know I have found this in neta. Having devoted my life to joining the points between design, technology and commerce, as part of the neta team, I’m anticipating the transformational process and the dividends that will result not only for our clients, but for our role in its creation.

Carlos is from the northwest coast of Spain (Galicia), what we adoringly call the ‘Arkansas’ of Spain. In the times of the Romans (before America, let alone Arkansas, existed) this region was known as Finis terrae, or the End of the Earth.

He has leaped from the end of the earth to NY to share his passion(s) for eCommerce, design, technology, music, films, cooking (and to savor the results), beer, basketball, surf, pinball and tattoos.
